

Jay S. Hennick is a successful businessman, entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is the Co-Founder, Global Chairman & CEO, and controlling shareholder of Colliers International (NASDAQ: CIGI), a global diversified professional services and investment management company with more than $100 million in assets under management and 24,000 professionals. He is also the Founder, Chairman, and largest individual shareholder of FirstService Corporation (NASDAQ: FSV), a North American leader in essential outsourced property services with 30,000 employees. Together, Colliers and FirstService have a 30-year track record of creating value and delivering superior returns for shareholders, with a combined compound annual growth rate in share price of approximately 20%.
In addition, Jay is also the Co-Founder and Chairman of The Hennick Group, a private family investment firm that partners with leadership teams to invest in high-quality, growth-oriented businesses and invests in institutional-quality real estate assets in prime locations worldwide. The Hennick family has invested in a portfolio of related professional service businesses including Foster + Partners, a globally renowned for architecture, design, engineering, and infrastructure, and Gardiner & Theobald, a significant project, cost and program management firm operating in the UK and US.
Jay holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from York University and a Doctor of Laws (J.D) from the University of Ottawa. He has also received Honorary Doctorates from both institutions.
In recognition of his achievements, Jay was appointed as a Member of the Order of Canada in 2019 and received the International Horatio Alger Award the same year. He has also been named Canada’s Entrepreneur of the Year and was recognized as Canada’s CEO of the Year by Canadian Business Magazine in 2001. In philanthropy, Jay served as Chairman of the Board of the Sinai Health System and Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto from 2013-2016.
